Next month (January 3-26, 2008) my local art gallery will be hosting an exhibition of some of my framed prints--the opening reception will be held in the evening on the day after the show opens.
I'm planning on having some sort of a draw for a door prize (to help get names to add to my mailing list), and a special opening-night-only slideshow presentation of some of my other images.
My question is, what are some creative things I can do to help generate people's interest in my photography? Is there anything I can do to get people who attend the show in the mood to purchase prints?
What are your experiences with photo exhibitions? What works? What doesn't?
If you'd like, you can see most of the prints I'm going to be showing here. These images were from another show I had earlier this year. Also, here's a copy of the invitation that was produced for my show.
