Take that silly pop up flash off and put on a bigger view finder. Otherwise, it's perfect as it is.

Hmmm, I first thought the same, but I've found it quite useful at times as a fill flash...keep it!

I gotta agree with Dave. I'll take my D700X with a pop-up flash thanks!

Re: The Nikon D700X... What Do YOU Want It To Be?

My primary use would be Landscape and Architecture, but I would also like to use it for backup to my Event Cameras (D3).

1. Seeing as how the D700 shares some of the D3 components including the 12mp sensor, it make sense to assume the D700X will share the D3X sensor (24mp).
2. I would like the low light capabilities to be enhanced over the D3X. Perhaps they should raise the whole ISO range (200-6400)?
3. Increase shooting, autofocus, & processing speed.
4. Add second (SDHC) card like D300s or just switch to two SDHC cards using second for backup, overflow or to shoot RAW & JPEG. I have been using 16 and 32GB SDHC cards in my D90 and they seem cheaper and more dependable than the Compact Flash cards, plus you can carry 10 of them in your watch pocket.
5. HD 1080 Video with AF and manual controls. You are going to see Video in every new camera with the possible exception of the Pro bodies (D3, D4, etc.), so we might as well tell them what we want.

I find the pop up flashes on DSLR's quite useful when you happen not to have a flashgun around but what would be an improvement would be if the camera either incorporated or had the facility to slide in front of the diffuser tiny reflectors (silver/gold), coloured filters, small softbox much in the same way as a lens gels.
