So does any one know for sure if Nikon has discontinued the SB-800 flash. I read that they have because they are making the SB-900 now. Does any body know for sure if this is true? Best buy just sold all of there SB-800 at below list price and I could not get one. Something like $159.00 or so.

Oct 7--NikonUSA have officially discontinued the SB-800 and cancelled all dealer backorders. Source: Thom Hogan's Nikon Field Guide and Nikon Flash Guide

I am unable to find a press release pertaining to the matter.

Gee that's a good price even if I exchange to AU$ I woulda bought a couple or more if I could.
I read it on Thom's site too.

It's a shame but I've got a few 800's while it seems that the SB900 is a perfect replacement. I bought one but now that I'm familiar with it I'll surely get a few more.
