Custom Shooting with D300

I was wondering if anyone can share how they set up some 'manage picture control' settings on the D300 and why they like it set up that way... currently I shoot just about everything with vibrant because I just LOVE how much colors are brought out with my images - BUT, some of the time, too much red appears or a little too much vibrant greens. The 'nuetral' setting is not warm enough and loses too much color. I have tried to play with the changes myself and do not totally get what I am doing, yet. Any advice - the manual just confuses me with this matter and having to edit for just 'color' through CS3 becomes quite annoying... =/

Rather than try to explain all the various settings I use and why, it's much easier to provide this excellent resource at Nikonian's website D300 forum that provides an Excel spreadsheet with all the various custom setting options and an extensive discussion regarding personal preferences and reasons for doing so. Here's the link:

If you are shooting a Nikon you should join Nikonians. Those Canon people don't have a site like this but they wish they did. One good reason to shoot a Nikon. I have been a member for two or three years now and get allot of information from there. It's a great site for the Nikon people.

Sounds like a great idea - I will have to do that. Thank you.
