I really need to set that button to do something else or nothing as I've made this same mistake several times.

I know how you feel when someone's breathing down your neck and you're under pressure to produce. I miss my days with the Hasselblad. . All mechanical and easy to operate.

I hear ya! But, did you ever accidentally trip the shutter on the lens when mounting it to the body? It locked up everything. There was a tool you could push up the rear curtain and re-cock the lens, but out in the middle of nowhere isn't the time to realize you need one Still, the 500CM was and is indestructable.

You know what Mark, that makes a world of sense to me. However, I didn't even touch it..My D200 was the same also and I never touched that. Either it came like that from the factory, or something else besides the Function button causes that. If it does happen again, I'll know it didn't come from the factory like that.

Romel- I did it while picking up the camera, or maybe setting it down. Or changing lenses. I'm not sure. But I've been very careful since I realized what I did!
