Finally!

The BL-3 battery door for my D300 battery grip just came in on the big brown truck. It had been on backorder since Christmas from Adorama.

One of the main reasons I bought the D300 was to be able to use another of my backup batteries for the D2x on the D300. I have three spare batteries for the D2x and wanted to use one in the D300 too. Now the X is the backup for the 300.

Anyone still looking for the BL-3, I imagine Adorama should be able to help you out.

Re: Finally!

Hey,
Is that the only reason you purchased that expensive D300? I would think that the merits of the camera would out way the benefits of recycling old D2X batteries.

Re: Finally!

Expensive? Compare the cost of a D300 against a D3 and I think the D300 is a bargain. Using the larger capacity battery is important to me when doing events, or just even a full day at some venue. 48 gb memory cards are now available. I will use the continious function more now that I have the battery and memory card capacity to do so. Besides I didn't say it was the only reason, just a major one.

I still think Nikon should have included the BL-3 with the battery grip for the price they get for the grip. An even more universal arrangement would have been to just make an adapter to hold two of the standard D300 batteries?

At any rate I am now satisfied with the outfit.
