MB-D200 in a D300?

Has anyone tried to use a Nikon MB-D200 battery pack in a D300? Will it work?

Re: MB-D200 in a D300?

Charles, the only thing from a D200 that will work in a D300 are the batteries themselves. The MB-D10 battery pack "grip" is completely incompatible, and is far superior to the D-200's; except it only holds one EN-EL3e battery in the clip (similar design to a D2x).

You can have a second battery in the camera body, but I don't recommend that, because when I do, I get random "battery low" camera shutdowns. I have to turn the camera off, then back on to get it to work again. With just one battery in the grip, it hasn't happened. Nikon needs to address this.

Battery life is greatly increased with the D300, so one battery is not a huge issue.

Hey Bill, I'm not the only one: SportsShooter.com - D300 Battery Issue

Not sure if they are having the same situation as I am, but it seems so. Not a member of SS, so I can't reply to them.
