If you're using a Mac, one option would be to use Image Capture -- it it bundled with the OS, and while it doesn't have the cool features of CCP 2 it will let you trip the shutter and get the images from the camera. At a very good price.
Bibble (the raw converter) also supports a limited flavor of tethering. You operate the camera as if it were shooting to a card, but Bibble copies each image to the computer as it is shot. If you don't need the remote control features or the ability to configure the camera that CCP 2 provides, Bibble is worth checking out. Bibble is also much faster at transering images (compared to CCP 2).
