| Re: Nikon View 4 Steve:
I use the D1 and NC2000 combo at the moment (had 2 D1s, but let us not dwell on that....'cause a D1x is coming in about 2 months).
For wires and newspapers I shoot the D1 in Normal, I get 177 frames on a 128MB flash card (D1 not D1x or D1x). The quality is fine, I have even shot a few magazine assignments in Normal, but I usually shoot them in Fine (NEF if I know it will be used large). I shoot all my agency assignments in Fine, and have never had a problem yet.
For software I view the images in Nikon DX, and use Bibble for my general adjustments. I find Bibble to be outstanding for getting my whites whiter, and my digital line noise redused. After Bibble (save 'em as 8 bit TIFs out of Bibble) I use Photoshop v4.0 on Windows, or Photoshop v5.5 on Mac, for my general work of contract, levels, sharpening and the IPTC headers.
I do use and like Foto Station for batch captioning, and detailed IPTC caption headers, as well as for searcing for images from folders. Foto Station is also better when working on the fly, and it has a nift slide show program!
