Need your opinion on the outcome from d1x

Hi,
I am using my d1x for almost 2 month and I would like to know if the result I get from my camera are those you expect from it.
I am talking mostly on the sharp issue.
I downloaded 4 untouched photos from my camera to:http://www.israelphotography.com/d1x/index1.htm
Most of the time I work in normal position with the AFS 17-35/2.8 lens.
Can you please tell me if the photos are OK
or i maybe have problems with my D1X?

Due to line speed, I only looked at the first two. They look very good. I personally wouldn't want them any sharper.

The first one on the Man who's head is closest to the red box on the wall, you can make out small details on his tie. The man who is laughing is very sharp.

The second one looks brighter and on my systme has excellent sharpness. The details in the painting on the wall in the background to the bread the men are holding. For my work I wouldn't need them any sharper.

What do you think about these? My only comment is they are hard to see on screen all in one, maybe reduce the size for viewing.

They look very good to me. Of course, one can always tweak them in Photoshop, but for an untouched shot, they're excellent.

To improve on the sharpness issue, try using the 17-35 at f8 or smaller.

Also, get the 85 f1.4D, i find this to be one of the sharpest nikkors around.

Israel,
the sharpness looks fine to me.
Just out of curiousity, are you using the auto white balance setting in the first 2 images?

I use all the time the Auto white balance.
And in most of the time Photoshop auto levels
give it the last fine touch.
