Re: D1/x/h 340 Microdrive Restrictions?

Here's the IBM compatibility chart for cameras, but the Nikon product line is not listed.

Re: D1/x/h 340 Microdrive Restrictions?

Nikon and IBM were pretty specific about that D at the end of the serial number, though I suspect that it's not always at the end of the serial number (note the XHAD in the drive that works versus the XHA in the one that doesn't in one of the posts, above). They will not certify MK1 Microdrives without it will work. That doesn't mean they won't, just that neither IBM nor Nikon would support that combination of products (i.e., they won't "fix" any problems you do have).

Re: D1/x/h 340 Microdrive Restrictions?

My D1H arrived yesterday and included a notice that it had updated firmware support for all microdrives. (I use CF cards.) First time with the D1-series, and I am incredibly pleased. I shot a football media day here in Ada, OK, this morning, and it saved me a pile of work over scanning film. Color, sharpness and speed were all in line with what I had hoped.
