Angry How do you fix this?

I made the mistake of altering a photo in Nikon Editor while still on the CF card instead of my usual method of downloading to a Hard Drive and then doing the tweaking. I later downloaded the image to the drive but now I get the error message that this file is not recognised by Viewer or Editor. Of course I have reformatted the card since and I need the image.
Anyone else experienced this and have a fix?
Thanks
James Haba

Is it a RAW file or JPEG. If it's JPEG, I may be able to help. You may also want to try file recovery tools on the memory card.

Re: How do you fix this?

Try opening it in Photoshop. You may have just damaged the part of the file that identifies it, as opposed to the actual meat of the file. Photoshop has a lot more latitude in what it will recognize.
