| Re: Choice colorsapce for D100 I agree with Walter, set the D100 to Adobe RGB (1998) and forget it. The images import softer in color, but with the NEF, it is only the previews that are softer in color.
The buffer is a bit slow, and even slower with compressed-NEF, but the results are worth it. Even though I could nail a Velvia transparency in exposure, it was well worth the hassle of shooting NEF with my D100 the past several years.
But, if you are just shooting for yourself and not professionally, sRGB is fine, especially for low-cost printers and commercial photofinishing where sRGB is the norm. Commercially and for editorial where you have the luxury of post processing, then NEF. Journalism where you are on tight deadline, jpeg is fine or if you are a wiz at exposure and color-balance then go for the jpeg. |
