Strange text in Camera Control or Nikon Capture 4.2. and newer.

Capture NX 1.01 and PhaseOne Capture 3.7.5 is working fine on my MacBook Pro 15.4 2,16Ghz.

But Camera Control Pro 1.o and when I upgrade from Nikon Capture 4.1.2 to 4.2. and up gives me some strange text in the capture box like IDS_TOOLCONTROL_AUTOFOCUS_START or IDS_CAMERA_MEASSUREWHITEBALANCE and so.

How can I correct this?

Hey,
I'm not one hundred percent sure, but there might be some issue with the latest intel chip and the latest NCPro. It is still pretty much in its infancy being only the first release, so it might still have some issues on some of the newer machines. Also, are you running both Nikon Capture Pro and Nikon Capture Control 4.2? If you own a license for both, you should uninstall one of them and try reinstalling the preferred one. Also, Nikon Capture Control has an upgrade to 4.4. I just used it the other day and it worked on both my older desk top G4 single processor (400mhz), running Tiger and the newer Mac intel duo-core laptop.

Hi Iverson,

Are you running a localized version of Nikon Capture? The text you are seeing typically respresents the variable names of the strings used when displaying text in a dialog box. In other words, text like "IDS_***" refers to the ID of the string to be used, and the application's using those as strings instead of loading the real text those string IDs refer to (if that makes any sense...)

I may be way off, but my guess (based on over 20 years of software dev in both Mac and Windows) you're getting the variable names instead of the strings you want. If so, this is a bug in the version of Capture you're running.

Again - this is assuming you are running a localized version. My US English version of Capture doesn't show this.

Hi Iverson,

Hi Jerry.

If you call the european Nikon server for local, yes, then I use local english. Maybee I could try to download from the US server.

BUT. Tonigth I installed BootCamp and did get my Capture software working in Windows XP sp1 (good to be back). I did allso get all the power back.
