separating Raw files from Jpegs in same folder

Hey,
I was wondering if there is some quick way to remove or separate the Raw files from the jpegs, when you shoot Raw + Jpeg together. Sometimes the client wants the jpegs right away and not the raws, but the files always end up in the same folder. What is a quick way to separate them?
TIA!
-Angel

Hi Angel-

There's a couple of different ways to do what you want. I use a Mac, so I'm not sure how this all works on a PC, but I'm sure it's doable. If you open the folder, in the headings across the top of the folder it reads Name, Date, Size, and Type. When you click on any of those it sorts the folder according to that description. If you click Type it separates the raws and jpgs. You then click on the first jpg and then shift click the last one. This selects them all and you can drag them wherever you want. You can also use Bridge or iView to sort according to file type and move them as you need.

Good luck, Forest

What Forrest described works just the same on the PC. Also if you're on a PC, you can use Downloader Pro to download your cards. I'm pretty sure one of its many useful features is the ability to download RAW and jpg files to separate folders. It can also make duplicate backup copies to separate locations automatically.

Hey,
I also am a MAC-MAN! Did the folder thing, and sorted using the Kind feature in the folder list. Thanks- Angel
