Nikon Capture NX Trial Available

The Nikon website has a trial version of Nikon Capture NX, Nikon's new imaging software to process NEFs & JPGs. Here is the link for Mac and Windows

The trial version will be available until the end of July at which time, a license must be purchased. Upgrades from registered Nikon Capture users will also be available then.

At first blush, this doesn't look any faster.....
Control points are interesting tho

Anyone else finding this a bit buggy?
Know it's a beta, just like to know if i'm on my own?

On a Mac, I wouldn't call it buggy, but there is a learning curve for sure.

I must say that at a first look I'm really impressed.

I'm using it in a Powerbook G4 1.25ghz with 1gb of ram and it runs pretty smooth. Control points are great, there are a few things that could improve but I'm yet to find a bug on the mac version although I just played with it. Compared to no NC, it's waaaaay faster and better...

I think that this time Nikon may have given a right shoot with software developing, finally!

I use 2 screens and have moved all the palettes to a 2nd screen. When I reopen the software, the pallettes are either not there or closed or both. Sometimes they are simply resized.

I discovered that the Nikon NX trial was available and downloaded it (mac version). I found it confusing at first, but as time went on it became interesting to use.

I especially like the U technology in adjusting areas of the image. But since i use Photo Mechanic & CS2, I am experimenting with using NX to finalize the U tech on my tiff files.
