Integrating non-TTL flash w/ SB-800 CLS system

I would like to integrate my non-TTL Vivitar flashes(plus SB-80DXs on Wein slaves) with the Nikon CLS system triggered by SU-800.

I have a couple of SB-800's to light the subject but would like to integrate other flashes to light up key sections of the background(manual mode)

The infrared trigger on the SU-800 triggers the Wein slave but the flash doesn't sync up.

Is there any way around this issue?

Which Wein trigger do you have? I think they came out with one that wasn't tricked by the pre-flashes from the camera. That might help with triggering the non-CLS lights, but you are still going to have to manually set the intensity of the non-CLS strobes.
