Re: D2Hs new firmware?

Piotr, don't put the D2Hs software into your D2H. Really bad idea. You'd likely render your camera useless.

Re: D2Hs new firmware?

I think that the focus speed is better now that I've upgraded firmware. But I can't say about color as I changed my color settings at the same time (shooting more contrast). The image quality seems to be better... but I don't know if that was due to any firmware changes.

I\'m an Idiot - Again

[ QUOTE ]
I may have found the reason some are reporting improved high ISO performance. I keep High ISO Noise Reduction set to OFF on my D2Hs. When I edit an ISO image in Capture 4.3.2 the Noise Reduction Palette shows that no high ISO noise reduction is being applied. Shots taken after the firmware upgrade now show noise reduction settings of 17 & 6 at 1600 and 25 & 7 at 3200 are being applied even though the camera setting remains at OFF.

[/ QUOTE ]

Just went over my images - and I was shooting at 3200 & 6400. Since I have no shots at these ISO setting that pre-date the firmware upgrade, I have no idea as to whether anything has changed Sorry for any confusion my misinformation may have caused.

Re: I\'m an Idiot - Again

I read somewhere that noise reduction is always applied, regardless of NR setting, at high ISOs on the D2X. Maybe that now applies to the D2Hs.

Re: D2Hs new firmware?

As I understood it, NR can be switched on or off from 400-800 ISO setting but at Hi-1 and Hi-2, (1600 and 3200 assumed ISO respectively, then regardless, before or after the upgrade to the new firmware, noise reduction is always applied even if the in camera setting is set to off.
