Re: ...ON THE SUBJECT OF QUALITY: CAPTURE 1!

"OK John, now show me the files to let me see the considerable if not remarkable difference. "

Bart.

Bart showing you files would only illustrate that I have variously used 'PHOTODESK' 'ACR' and 'CAPTURE 1' to process raw files and that in each case the files look good. My point is that C1 is easier to use, quicker to get spot on results and requires less work in photoshop to correct colour/shapness/levels issues. If you've trialed it and hate it then ditch it. I find it a fantasticly effective tool in my workflow. I suspect we may drive different cars or have different camera bags. To each their own. Good luck

John

Re: ...ON THE SUBJECT OF QUALITY: CAPTURE 1!

Hi John,

As you've said, to each their own. Once you get used to the quirky C1 interface it is indeed the fastest RAW converter to work in.

I'm interested in what subjects you photograph. Personally the C1 conversions have too much of a bronzing tone in their colors. People look like they're wearing fake tan and blue skies are pale compared to Bibble, while ACR greens and reds have more pop. I do love the C1 texture; very film-like which no other RAW converter can achieve.

As to price; yes C1 Pro is over the top but the LE version has maybe 90% of the features for 20% of the cost.

Just as we selected film to match the subject, there is room for more than one RAW converter on the computer.
