Re: First impressions of the WT-2A with D2X

Ian,

check to make sure the path of the files is your user directory and not anywhere else. If you Mac is set up with you as the user, and you are logged in as you, make sure the destination of the
files is in the home(Ian or whatever name you used)/ folder.

Good luck,

[ QUOTE ]
I have obtained TCP settings for the WT-2 automatically

[/ QUOTE ]

For ad-hoc connections, there is no DHCP server in place (on infrastructure networks it is typically in your wireless router) so these settings need to be dialed in manually. You will need to create a static IP address for your Powerbook and manually dial in settings in the camera (to make it easier to switch back to your current settings, create a new location before making these changes). The settings need to be compatible, so if you're not sure what to enter use the following (this is just an example, there are many other possibilities):

In the powerbook,
IP Address: 192.168.0.10
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 0.0.0.0
DNS: 0.0.0.0

In the WT-2,
IP Address: 192.168.0.11
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Use Gateway: Unchecked
Use DNS: Unchecked
FTP Server Name: 192.168.0.10
etc...

If you need any further assistance give me a shout and I'd be happy to walk you through the process

Re: First impressions of the WT-2A with D2X

Your instructions did it!

Well that and the dreaded phantom spaces on my user name to log into the FTP. I read about those weeks ago, yet I still got caught by them!

Ok now that I am running in both studio and on location with this thing, anyone else child proofing an iBook for clients to watch with?.. I am thinking the new 12 inch that was just announced with extra baby bumpers would be a great location laptop!
