That's the type of problem I have with the 70-200 Vr and the 1.4 EII. I have found that if you first turn everything off, including the camera, unlock the TC from the body, twist off then re-install. then repeat but leave the TC on the body this time and just remove the lens from the TC and re-install that it resets every time. Give it a try next time. I also find that if I turn the entire rig off every once in a while, it doesn't lock up. Only does this with my D100, never had the problem on the F5. Interesting that you have the problem with the 80-200 AFS. Up till now, it only seemed to be the 70-200 VR.

I have been in touch with Nikon, they really do not appear to be aware of these D100 probs. I used the D100+ 1.4e converter on the 500mm all day yesterday and the damn thing never let me down. How can Nikon check this, isn't it infuriating ??
