Max Cf cards

Hello,

With Nikons limit of a 2GB CF card what would happen if a larger card is used? Will the camera ignore the remainder of the card?

From what I have heard, my D1 will only "see" a max of 2 gigs on a card. Any more than that and it will just ignore the extra. You can use a 4 gig card but it will only see 2 gigs worth.
The newer cameras like the D2h and the D2x can use the larger cards, I don't know if the D70 or D100 can use them

I wounder if creating folders on a larger card would work. I am calling a friend who heads a department in Nikon and see if he can help. Regards Jerry

No its a bigger issuse then that. It has to do with the camera only using fat instead of fat32 or some other file system. You would need to partition the bigger card in to max 2gb increments and figure out a way to point it to the other drive c: d: e: whatever....
