err message on d100

Has anyone got a err message on the d-100 display. I've tried all modes and different lens and still get the message about 50 % of the time. The d100 manual suggests going to a Nikon sevice rep, any suggestions before i go to nikon.

If my lense is not set to f22 and locked, I will get this message.

What was the time and cost to repair?

Been there...

I might have had the same problem. When it happens is the shot way overexposed? I had this and it would say Err. In the end it was still under warranty and I sent it in for service. The repair tag said they replaced the shutter mechanism I think and said that the cost would've been about ~$300. The shop had it for about 2 weeks I think.

It sucks but...so does an unreliable camera.
