Max card size for D2X?

With the flurry of new brands and sizes coming out these days does anyone know what is the biggest compact card / speed the D2X wil take?

Re: Max card size for D2X?

I know there is a card limit of 2 gigs for my old Nikon D1's but I don't think there is a limit to the D2H or the D2X.

4 GB for the D2H won't take any bigger - I tried

Re: Risky to use too big a card

I find it too risky to use too big a card. If one does go down in the middle of a shoot, the headache you would have trying to recover files is a bigger one. The biggest I'm using is 2GB. Also, even with firewire card readers it still takes some time to download a big card full of images.

Re: Risky to use too big a card

Cards? You guys are planning on using cards? I'm shooting WiFi straight to either my Mac in the studio, or the laptop on location.

I have a few 1GB cards I'll have on hand, but for me personally the big attraction is shooting straight to the hard drive of whatever WiFi enabled device will be around. FTP the RAW files to my site and then back to the base station computer for archiving and processing if I'm shooting on location.

Cards will be nice to have in the camera I'm sure, but I've ordered my WiFi transmitter right along with my D2X. If history proves accurate, the WiFi transmitter will arrive before my D2X does. With my first D1 the batteries and Capture came in well before the camera was officially released. Weird.

How fast can WiFi transmit 12mb raw file? Or, to be more accurate, how many images may be transferred in 1 minute?

You need the Delkin cardbus 32 adapter, it fits in your pcmcia slot on your laptop and the card fits into that, it took my 14 minute transfer times of a 1 gig card completely full to just over 3 minutes, so im guessing that respectively you will be able to get 6 minutes for a 2 gig 12 for a 4 and less than 25 minutes for 8 gigs completely full with this little bugger, they may have come up with an even faster one by now, cardbus 64 maybe??? anyone?

BTW...i use this in my NIKON
