I cant see anything wrong with these photos.

Me neither, and I've looked at these on three different monitors. My colleague sitting next to me right now has similar colouring and I'd say those images show a very fair representation of the transitions I see in his face.

Re: What is UP with the color & D2H - Help!

I like the fact that your post here asks a question about the quality of the D2h images. I'm a bit bothered by the fact that the link makes reference to D2h "crap", however.

But if you want to examine images from a professional camera and judge whether or not they have proper color, you're going to have to put more effort into than you did in your test. Judging accurate color is going to require more than just blasting off a couple of shots with an on camera flash unit or two. And, to my eyes, you're mixing sunlight with your strobe units and that can easily result in improper color.

If you want to judge color accurately, I would suggest you shoot in a controlled studio session and then compare the images from the D2h to images from some other digital camera that you have judged to have accurate color rendition.

I'm finding the d2h works best when all the light is the same color. When it's mixed you get mixed results...

Harsh lighting, high contrast. WB set to Auto, better results when set to Flash or Daylight. Avoid Auto. EXIF data looks strange, edited?

Thanks for all the reply's. Much appreciated. I did not use on-camera flash but had one tethered off to the side and another in back. There was a little daylight leakage. Good eye. I need another flash and gotta tape up the skylight.

Opened in NC4. EXIF for face%20crap looked normal, whitecrap is missing entries for most fields; lens, sensitivity, WB, AF mode, tone comp, Flash sync mode, color mode, hue adjustment, sharpening, noise reduction. Opened in PSCS today and looked at file info and most are there. Odd.

I agree with John Vito, whitecrap shoulder appears to be overexposed black fabric below shadow from head.

Viewing on my laptop now, I need to calibrate this bad boy. These looked much better at my desk.
