WOW that was quick!!!!!

Many thanks! It was an assignment that didn't start too well until I spotted the great light in the ladies' toilet at this theatre!

Edmond, thanks for posting. I'm cosidering this lens to
be used insteead of my 17-35. I'm still waiting for a
real test to evaluate the sharpness of the 17-55. Do you
think this lens could also replace the 28-70 for
portraits? Did you use the SB800 with this lens? Could
you post more people's pics to evaluate sharpness.

Re: 17-55mm sample shots posted

Hi Danny,
The lens is great. I've used it with the SB800 and it all works well. I'm going to keep my 28-70 for now, but since buying this lens I haven't used it once......so I guess I may sell it!
55mm isn't ideal for portraits as the 70mm gives a more pleasant look by more flattening. Having said that you can see the portraits that I've posted.
I'm vey busy so the chances of posting anything else is slim. I think there is enough of a selection to get a good idea of the lens's sharpness. As I mentioned though, none of the images have been touched, so you would normally USM before sending.
