Thanks for the f22s Edmond.

It is hard to tell on screen if this is greatly different from say, f8.

What are your feelings ?

It might be will be prime lenses for the new digi kit if you feel there is drop off in quality.

Hi Graham,
This is by far the best standard lens to have as far as zooms go! I'm totally pleased with this lens and it hasn't left my camera once since I got it!
Generally, for optical performance f5.6 - f8 are the ones to use. One looses out on quality by closing down so much, however, there are occassions when you's do so.
As I said, I can't recommend this lens highly enough!! The quality is amzing, as is the speed and the range.

PS - if you download the images on the pbase site, do some levels and sharpening, you'll see how great a lens it is. Everything that's on that page is straight from the camera.

May I ask which camera model you used. the original size image is very very sharp.

Look at the EXIF. The camera used was the D2H.

Yep, D2H, with the sharpness turned off in camera! Its great for capturing fine detail!!

Thanks for pointing out the Exif. It could not have been placed in a more obvious spot! I guess, I was so blown away by the sharpness that I did not see it. I am really impressed! Thank for sharing these.
