Re: D2H \"err\" msg on display ?

Well, the "ERR" I got was with both a 28-70 Af-S lens as well as my 70-200 AF-S VR, so I don't think that the 70-200 is the main culprit.

I will see what Nikon USA has to say when I call them about sending mine in next week.

Re: D2H \"err\" msg on display ?

Karl,

I had this kind of problem 4 times with a D1.
Most of the times a could use the camera for some times (twice I was in Kenya when it happens). I always have the camera on continuous shooting so if I heard the camera was taking two pictures at the same time, but took only one, I knew it was broken again. If I look on the display, it showed ERR. Most of the time I could use it again by pressing the shutter all the way and held it there of a few seconds. Then it starts taking pictures again.

After a few weeks the camera fails completely and in a few cases it was a broken shutter and one time a power failure. Normaly the shutter will last for at least 150.000 pictures. Only once I knew this could be the reason but in all other cases, the number of pictures taken was between 35.000 and 80.000

I really like to know if this problem still exists so please inform me if you know the reason of the failure.

Thanks in advance
Marco

Re: D2H \"err\" msg on display ?

Hi all,

This is a very old thread but I'm going to answer anyway, just for the record.

My D2H with nearly 20.000 clicks recently started to display "Err" too. Pushing the shutter button produces a (black) picture and 'fixes' the issue temporarily. I have noticed that the "Err" message appears only when the picture taken is the first in a long time, e.g. the first of the day.

Luckily I bought a 5year warranty with the camera. I will send it back soon... after 花見 season!
