I've never done any real wildlife photography before, and so this past week when I had the opportunity to photograph some eagles I was quite excited to do so. I was in Prince Rupert BC, and I met a local photographer who goes regularly down to the waterfront with bags of beef and pork fat to fling into the ocean to generate interest amongst the birds. It was fascinating to watch first the crows come, and then the eagles who were interested in all the racket the crows were making. Anyways there must have been at least 15 or so eagles swooping and diving regularly to the ocean surface to grab the fat.
I had to crop the image below because I only had a 24-105mm lens on my camera. But for my first attempt at this kind of shooting, I was pretty happy with how it turned out. I have more images to go through, and so I'll be able to post more as I get to them.

Nicely done, Curtis. I remember 10 years ago we chartered a 53 ft. boat and visited some friends in Genoa Bay, near Duncan. The host took us next door to Sansum Narrows, where he proceeded to attract some eagles. Unfortunately, I didn't have a suitable lens and didn't get the nice shot you got. The thing I remember most is our huge boat chasing his outboard. Looked like a predator and it's prey.
