Dave,

As already expressed, very beautiful pictures. Just curious, which lenses did you take and which did you use? Thanks.

Ron

Re: Yellowstone National Park

I know your question was probably directed at Dave, but I'll chime in: I took my (all Canon) 10-22 zoom, 17-40 zoom, 50 f/1.4, 28-135 zoom, 100-400 zoom.

I used, in this order of preference, my 28-135, 10-22, and 100-400. The 28-135 was by far the lens I used most, and the 17-40 and 50 didn't see any action at all.

Re: Yellowstone National Park

Noel,

I may be getting off our topic/thread here but, as I stated previously in another thread, I recently sold my Canon 28-135 IS lens because I lost the IS feature, i.e. when viewing a shot with the IS on, the image would "chatter" and the result would be an out of focus shot. I really miss that lens but I am reluctant to get another because of this experience. Of all the EF lenses that I have owned (ten, four were/are IS), that is the only one that I had a problem with. The lens was always "babbied". Anyway, I am going to put that on my Christmas gift list and give it another try. Thanks for your input.

Re: Yellowstone National Park

I'm sorry to hear of your bad experience.

For what it's worth, mine's on my camera all the time, except if I want to go wide or tele. I've put no doubt 50,000+ shots through it on 4 different bodies and today it's as solid as it was in 2000 when I got it.

The images may not be *quite* as crisp and clean as with a prime, but they are very processable, as you no doubt already know, Ron.
