polarizers on digtial cameras

Hi all

I am getting poor results when using a polarizer on my digital camera, a Fuji S7000. It is giving me muddy colours in the sky. I am very happy with the same polarizer when used on my 35mm film gear, mainly using Velvia. The polarizer is a Hoya circular

Has anybody experinced similar results when using a polarizer on a digital camera? I am beginning to suspect it is purely the way that particular sensor resonds to the sky colour.

Hmmm--much to be said on that score--your shot is OK --try Pshop Selective Color and play with the settings there--see pic--pardon the artifacts!

Up here ( GBR) they go for the Velvia look--so the shots have to be over saturated.

I use the B+W Kaes Pola-and it does not do the "Mud" like the Hoya.

Thanks for that Des. You confirm what I suspected. Guess I'll have to bite the bullet and buy a 62mm B+W. I do have other B+W, and they do work well.

Just can't figure why it works so well on Velvia and other film emulsions, but is a mess on my digital. Obviuosly the way the sensor records certain colours.
