CF1325 tripod for 500mm?

I'm interested to hear what people have to say about using the Gitzo 1325 with a 500mm F4 (often with 1.4x TC and D10's 1.6x factor) and a ballhead. Is this tripod too light for the application? On one hand I might someday get a Wimberly, but on the other hand I do a lot of walking, and need to keep weight down. Any feedback would be appreciated before I start upgrading.

I use the 1325 and full Wimberly with my 500mm f/4 IS lens. It works very well.
