| Re: Alaska Cruise "... i see you are from maryland. we vacation there (abut 30 mins north of baltimore...to see family) every October. We have been to the waterfalls and king and queens seat at rocks state park and we plan to visit Assateague Island (wild ponies!)again but any other suggestions for wildlife or scenic photos in the area? "
Maryland is a BEAUTIFUL state! But it is not Alaska. We do have plenty, but we are also a very popluated state. The best place for wildlife (outside zoos ) is in Blackwater Wild Life Preserve. Blackwater is located on Eastern Shore bordering on The Chesapeake Bay about across from Solomons Island. There are Eagles, and lots of birds. October (my favorite time of the year here) find the Bay teaming with migratory birds. Assateague is nice but the ponies almost don't qualify as wildlife, the will come up to you for handouts. Also, like many Eastern states Maryland is nearly ver run with White Tail Deer, you should see plenty (dusk is best time). We have plenty of scenic places too so don't rule those out.
