digital large format lens aperture

i have a LF digital lens which is exactly like a 4x5 lens mounted in a copal shutter etc...

my question is the f stop indicator clicks at 1/3 stops on the lens instead of sliding continuously like on other LF lenses i have. can it be made to slide continuously, what is making it click like this.

and in case my vender is reading this, i am completely happy with my purchase; more intrigued by this.

It's been a years since I used 4x5, but I think there's usually a little lever or sliding knob that you can use to disable the click stop.
