Depending on what else you shoot and what other camera systems you use, I might recommend a P30/P30+, P25/P25+ or P45/P45+. The P25/P45 have the largest real estate to play with, but the P30 produces beautiful files. Phase One has some great pricing currently on the refurbished backs, so it might be something to consider.
Chris- After doing a lot of reading on various backs, and calling Mamiya, I'm thinking that the P30+ might be the back I'll use. I'm probably going to have to rent for this up-coming job, but the client is willing to pay for the rental. The last shot was done on a P25 back and the client was happy with the results. When I know more about the shoot day, I'll contact you directly for rental info.
Thanks, Mark S.

Mark - The P30/ P30+ is a great back to shoot with. It's 31MP and produces some beautiful files. Just keep in mind that it does have micro-lenses in front of the sensor,
so it can be an issue with wide angle lenses on technical cameras.

Yes, the ZD is good enough to shoot food. Its a superb studio camera in general, although not at its best at exposures longer than around 20 secs. The 120mm macro is an excellent lens and ideal for food photography. I would not exactly be surprised if a Phase One dealer had a different opinion!

I am a bit biased towards Phase One since we sell Phase products. The ZD is an o.k. digital back, but it does have it's limitations. With the prices of demo and refurbished backs dropping, they are reaching the ZD price range.
Here are a couple of tests to show you some of the different backs that are currently out. There are some P+ and some non + backs in the mix. If the pictures look familiar, it is the area of Centennial Park in Atlanta, GA that was hit by the tornado.
