AHH, there lies Apple's conundrum.
If they continued to sell their hardware/software combo's and also sold the OS as a stand alone solution for people who want other hardware boxes, they would have multi-millions of new converts. The risk is that they would then become the same as MS, instead of being *special*. I for one would be a convert. Our world needs equal Ying & Yang. Perhaps this gamma change is a hint of what lies in the future.
But then, who would mac owners be able to smirk at???


Sorry, just had to. I had an interview with a prospective employee last week who poo-poohed me for being a pc shop. I suggested that PS runs pretty much identically on either. He would have none of that. Wonder if he got hired? I honestly didn't hold that against him but the strong feelings he had for many other things tipped the scales pretty fast.
