Airport Network Set Up

File this under stuff I should know, but how do you create a password protected airport network using a non-apple wireless router?

Re: Airport Network Set Up

Same basic idea: you use the router's UI to set up WPA or WPA2, depending on what’s available. However, although these are allegedly “standards”, the reality has always been that some chipsets don’t get along. I used to encounter WIFI networks I could never manage to successfully mount with my Mac laptops, and once or twice, there have been pee-cee laptop users who have been unable to mount my WPA2 Airport Extreme (Apple) network. In other words, YMMV.
