speakers not working right

im running a g5 power pc quad processor mac to 2 klipsch speakers, and only the left speaker is working. the left one is the controller if you will, it connects to the computer and the other speaker connects to it. ive checked and replaced the connections. the right one produces no sound just really quiet static.

any ideas, the are good speakers, i paid $200 for them through the apple store 2 years ago.

Re: speakers not working right

From my experience, sound from only one speaker usually means the plug is not inserted all the way in the computer. You can also check the speaker balance in system preferences. A fix for Mac sound problems used to be to open and close the "Garage Band" program. Somehow this resets the audio output.

Re: speakers not working right

yup i have checked those preferences, and the balance doesnt help either. just turned on my computer and both speakers are working....

they worked well when i first got them... im thinking its a loose wire or something like that, because it i touch the wire that connects the two speakers it would mess it up.
