New to Mac

I just returned my HP laptop to Sam's and I'm heading for a Macbook Pro. Along with Aperture, what software recommendations are out there for a primarily photo editing & organzing use? Thanks. / LT

Re: New to Mac

If you aren't already an Aperture user, I'd suggest doing some research into Lightroom before you buy. There are many here who use a variety of software combinations, but I'll start off by suggesting the obvious ones, Lightroom (I prefer it to Aperture) and Photoshop. Depending on your work requirements, there may be others with additional suggestions.

Happy Mac-ing!

Re: New to Mac

Definitely download a demo of both Aperture and Lightroom before you pull the trigger!

Re: New to Mac

Thank you (both.) I've dowloaded a 30 trial copy of Light Room and find it fairly straightforwar so far. Assuming I go forward, are there any preferred or recognized effective training protocols?

Re: New to Mac

Not sure whether new Macbook Pros are shipping with Tiger operating system or the new Leopard. Remember that Lightroom doesn't work with Leopard yet - Adobe are due to ship an update soon. FWIW I used Aperture for a good few months and then moved to Lightroom and have stuck there ever since.

The Luminous Landscape video tutorial (its like $20) is excellent.
