MacBook Pro memory

Can anybody tell me if this memory will work in a MacBook Pro? The dealer wants almost $400, just wondering if I can save sime money:

Re: MacBook Pro memory

IMHO memory is not something you want to guess at or skimp on. Apple's prices have always been too high, but there are other reputable sources that can provide solid alternatives.

Crucial has always been my favorite source for RAM (but there are others). Crucial's website has some good tools for discovering exactly the type of RAM you need for your specific model of MAC Pro. Their web site is here: http://www.crucial.com/index.aspx

Thanks Tim,

I looked at that link, it looks identical to me, anybody "in the know" see a difference between this link and the eBay link above?

4GB kit (2GBx2), 200-pin SODIMM, DDR2 PC2-5300 upgrades for Apple MacBook Pro 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (15.4-inch) Laptop/Notebook, CT687594 from Crucial.com

Thanks,
Donnie

Re: MacBook Pro memory

we've used Crucial to upgrade RAM in both our 17" MacBookPro & also the MacPro, and also hard-disk in the MacPro. Works fine for me - just use the memory that Crucial recommend for your particular requirements.

I also got a couple of CF cards from them as well.

Re: MacBook Pro memory

You might take a look at Other World Computing (http://www.macsales.com/) and Trans International (http://www.transintl.com/). They both have mac specific memory advice, and good prices. We have had good luck with both of them.

David.
