SlideShow programs

Well, I have recently noticed a definite demand toward slide shows for PR and weddings clients. So I am now on the lookout for a solid application ( flexible, professional transitions) that burns Mac-PC dvds .... any suggestions

Re: SlideShow programs

You've already got what you need. iPhoto, and then iDVD. If you need something more controlled, try iMovie, or Final Cut Pro.

Re: SlideShow programs

Christian -- Are you using Mac or PC? For PC, I use ProShow Gold and have had pretty good luck with it (it's a little flaky burning the discs, but I just make an ISO and burn the discs with Nero).

Re: SlideShow programs

Thanks Mitch, a colleague showed me that program and thats what lead to my post .... in the Mac forum!
Thanks David, but I ditched Iphoto because I never used it and it kept starting off every time i put a card in the reader. Now I have to buy Ilife to get the suite.
2 weeks ago I attended a demonstration on Aperture and I am hooked. So I am contemplating an upgrade from my ol Dual Mirror Doors .... and it's a much bigger step than just buying an application

Re: SlideShow programs

I just came across FotoMagico. From the demo I downloaded it looks like a pretty well written, easy to use and feature rich program. I especially like the integration with Aperture.

Does anyone have any longer term hands on experience with it?

David.

Re: SlideShow programs

You might want to take a look at DVD Studio Pro. It has special functions just for slideshows. You can do almost anything you can think of, then it is a snap to build and burn. It is very simple to do slideshows with motion graphics, music, all kinds of filters, any kind of transition, etc, etc, etc. Very flexible and powerful.

The only problem with the so-called 'pro apps' is the price...your budget might be in trouble.

Re: SlideShow programs

The freeware program Irfan View can be used to create self-running slideshows for PCs. You'll have to lay things out properly and burn the disc yourself, but once you've figured that out it will be a cookie cutter operation for other discs.
