Does Nikon Capture work in Rosetta?

Has anyone tried Nikon Capture on an Intel Mac, say, one of the new iMacs or one of the developer machines? I am trying to find out if it works in Rosetta, and apparently Nikon tech support themselves do not know the answer to this question.

Re: Does Nikon Capture work in Rosetta?

Stunned that no-one ever responded to this.

In any case, the word from Nikon tech support is that View and Picture Project work and install just fine, while Capture runs but their is an issue with the installer. Those of you who have seen Rob Galbraith's tests on an Intel iMac earlier this week will no doubt have noticed the Capture benchmark and also that 4.4.1 does not install on Intel -- however, Galbraith notes that simply dragging and dropping the components into place seems to work properly.

I am still curious as to how using Firewire target mode or Ethernet for the installation will work. If anyone wishes to comment, they are welcome to do so. If I haven't heard anything by the time I finally get my MacBook, I will report back myself.

Re: Does Nikon Capture work in Rosetta?

yeah I noticed that mention in rob's review. It's the little things like that, that will drive us nuts in this transition.

Nikon's support of the Mac platform has been meager at best, I don't look forward to the day when I try and install Capture on a new Intel Mac.

In fact it's enough to convince me to the buy a Quad machine when they blow them out...

Capture transfered without a beat from my G4 Powerbook to my new iMac Dual Core. Runs more briskly on the iMac. I used the Firewire mode & Migration Assistant.
