Lacie Photon 20\" - any users ?

Hi,

I'm looking into the Lacie Photon 20" to hook it up to my PB G4 15" to do fine editing such as color corrections, etc. It will also be used as the main screen for my PC. So far I havn't found any reveiws of this screen.
Anybody here on the forum that uses this screen that would care to share their opinions/ thoughts about issues such as colors, viewing angle, etc would be more than welcome. Up until now I've been using a Lacie Blue 19" but it died a few days ago and it's way out of warranty. Because of lack of space I would really prefer to go for an LCD screen.

Thanks in advance.
Wilhelm

Hi Wilhelm,
I've got one! Got it a couple of weeks ago and all I can say is that its great!
I have it hooked up to a PC and I can't fault it in any way. I don't calibrate my monitors as I work for such a variety of clients that it just wouldn't work, so I can't comment on that aspect.
One tip though - in the UK you can buy it without the huge desk clamp arm which knocks around £130 off the price. The standard stand it comes with is great - full adjustments in height and angle.

Happy shopping,

Edmond

Edmond,
Great to hear! Good to know you can get it without the 'arm' stand.
Do you have a place you could recommend over in London to get this beauty? I'm asking as Belgium is quite more expensive when it comes to elctronics/cameras/etc. This would also give me the excuse to go to London for a little day trip:-).

Thanks.
Wilhelm

Hello mate,
Unfortunately I can't recommend a shop! I got mine on the internet https://www.mycomputerbits.co.uk/aca...reens_146.html
Its half the way down the list. Ah, I've just looked and they only deliver in the UK! Sorry.
As with everywhere, shops are much more expensive, and the retailers don't carry specialist gear, and when they do, its very expensive.
I've searched through other web sites I use and all their prices are over £1000. Perhaps contact mycomputerbits and see if they can arrange delivery for you - or if you can come and collect it from them. If you're ordering on the net, it might be worth searching some US sites??

Hi Edmond,

Thanks for address on the web. No problem with UK delivery only, as I have a brother living in London.
Guess I will plan a trip to see him very soon.

Cheers,
Wilhelm
