G-4 Icons

Hello,

This is a petty concern, but I sure would like to change the icons on my G-4 desktop. Not that tool catalog-like images of little harddrives don't have their je ne sais quoi, but I sure would appreciate a tip to software that offers alternatives.

Thanks,

Bill Jackson

Re: G-4 Icons

Here is how-

First, make or get some artwork you want to have as the icon. Crop it tight. Do a command c (copy).
Second, click on (highlight) the icon you want to change. Do not double click or open it.
Third, do a command i (get info).
Fourth, in the small info window that just appeared from your command i keystroke, you will see the exisitng icon in the upper left hand corner of that window. Click on that icon to select it. That icon will now either look highlighted or have a box appear around it depending on whether you are on OS9 or OSX.
Fifth, do a command v (paste).

Done.

Re: G-4 Icons

Thanks for taking the time to write out the steps, John. I'll get right on it.

I tried without success to locate this info on OS 10.3.1's Help. I'm not too impressed with that function.

Thanks again,
