Buying an other G4 or upgrade to G5 ?

Hi,

I'm having performance issues and I'm condidering to boost my system. I'm currently using a G4 DP 1Ghz, 1 Gig of Ram with a Cinema display 20". Burning a DVD, uploading files to a server, processing images with C1 and PS, all at the seme time it's sometime a bit much to ask and the system gets really really slow.

I'm wondering wether it would be worth buying an Imac for DVD burning and FTP related activities and keep the G4 DP, or sell the G4 (for almost nothing) and get a G5 DP.

Any advice on this would be very much welcome,

If you can, keep the G4 for DVD burning and FTP related activities, e-mail server and buy a G5 !

Agreed, buy the new 1.8 Ghz DP G5....smokin' fast and a good value for the money. Keep the G4 for the mundane tasks.

I vote for waiting a month - in January Apple is likely to announce new chip speeds - 2.2 2.4 and 2.6 duals. And of course, lower prices on the 1.8s.
