Problem with internal Modem

I've been having a problem with my G3 PB 500 of late which involves the internal modem dailing itself out without warning. As a resulf everything crashes. It ususally happens when I've got a flashcard inserted into the cardslot. Any solutions to this problem would be gratefully accepted. By the way, I'm still using OS9.2.2. Thanks JC

Re: Problem with internal Modem

I don't have an exact answer for your problem, but the following are suggestions.

Do you use the modem?
Can you disable it in control panels?
Rebuilding the desktop can sometimes help weird OS 9 problems.
Zapping the PRAM can also sometimes help weird OS 9 problems.
Running the third party utilities Techtools 3.0.9 by Micromat or
Disk Warrior 3.0 by Alsoft can sometimes eliminate bizarre Mac behavior by
repairing disk and file structures.

Good luck.

Re: Problem with internal Modem

Greg

Thanx for the advice! I've already zapped the Pram (via Techtools Lite) and that dosen't seem to have solved the problem. I am now positive that it has something the do the PB's cardslot. When it is not in use I don't seem to get the problem. Right now I'm trying to find a way of reconditioning one of my two batteries which is now only giving me less than 1 hour and 30mins of play-time. Problems, problems...do they never cease?
