I've been working the last 2 years on a callibrated CRT monitor from Lacie (19" blue III) and have been very happy with it. But lately I'm having a lot of eye-problems (strain, fatigue) because of it.
So I'm currently looking for a LCD monitor (I've been told that the strain from a LCD monitor is much less). The sharp monitors are not available in Belgium and the Eizo monitors don't fit in my budget.
Today I stumbled by chance in a PC shop (I'm on mac) and discovered the Acer 19" TFT mutimedia AL 1931 (+/- 700 $: 650 euro + tax).

I was very impressed by the quality (color, contrast, tonal gradation and brightness) of this TFT monitor (700:1 contrast ratio and a brightness of 300 cd/m; whatever that means...).
Is anyone out there using this monitor that can give me some feed-back?
I'm also planning to buy the Eye-one calibrator for the LCD monitor.
In general, what are the technical details we have to watch for when we shop for an LCD monitor?
Thank you for your advice and input.
Eugene
