I would certainly reccomend Quantum Mechanic pro. It does much the same job as the noise reduction element in the Kodak acquire plug-in except that you have real control over the degree of noise reduction and unsharp masking. I went through a stage of using Fotostation 4 to handle my Kodak images, but I think that Photoshop does do a better job in combination with QM. I now have QM pro and I think that it is a superior product, albeit a fair bit more complex to use. I have a couple of "standard" QM actions set up in Photoshop, but rarely use them now that I understand the software better. I have no real knowledge of Photo Mechanic except for playing with an old trial version and not being overwhelmed by it.
