Zeus Pack System Lighting

I'm finally taking the plunge and buying some studio lighting equipment. I have been using three Canon Speedlights for my lighting needs, but just accepted a job requiring an outdoor shoot. The Speedlights just don't have the power I anticipate needing.

After agonizing over all of the choices available, I decided to go with the "Zeus" pack lighting system by Paul C Buff. I wanted the most flash power I could get for the buck. I have worked with mono-lights before but not a pack light system. I could not find any reviews about the Zeus system and my purchase decision is based on the company's reputation for support.

The Z2500 power pack, Vagabond II battery, Standard Flash Head, Ring Flash head, two 13' light stands, 48" umbrella, 30" Moon Unit and cases were priced under $2000. delivered.

The lights are each capable of 2500 Ws output at full power when used individually or 1250 Ws each when used together. The lighting ratio can be set 1:1 or 3:1 with a stepless output adjustment over a 5 f stop range.

I know it's a little late, but if anyone has experience with this system, please let me know.

Sorry i can't answer directly Jerry. Just a thought though, did you check out the release dates of the Einstein series? They sure sound like something worth waiting for if you can afford the wait. They are supposed to work off Vagabond also - any voltage 50 to 240 without adaptors.

I really couldn't wait, I have the shoot scheduled for August 22nd.

From what I read, the Einstein system will be monolights. I could always add a couple later. I am hoping the proposed Cyber Commander wireless controller will work allow me to sync both systems.
