| Re: quantum qflash, advise, help wanted I use a Qflash T4D on Canon 1D bodies (Mark II and Mark III) for wedding photography. I use the camera on manual exposure, ISO setting generally from 400-1600, and the Qflash on "Auto".
I get great results...until the Turbo (battery) dies. I'd estimate I'm only getting 150-200 partial-power flashes before the battery is shot. It's time to replace the Turbo, or at least add a new one to my kit and assign this one to backup duty.
Besides the standard reflector (with its removable diffuser), I have the wide angle, telephoto, and softbox modifiers. I use the wide angle reflector a lot, but obviously it uses even more battery power...
Once you find the settings that work best for you, your gear, and your style of shooting, I suspect you'll come to love the Qflash. It has a quality of light that SB800's and the like just aren't capable of. |
